Abstract:

Kidney transplantation is the best treatment option for end-stage renal disease. In recent years, in order to alleviate the problem of donor kidneys shortage, the use of marginal donor kidneys has been increasing, which puts forward higher requirements for donor preservation. Due to its advantages of reducing ischemia reperfusion injury of marginal donors and suppressing rejection, hypothermic oxygenated machine perfusion(HOPE) has gained widely attention again. This review will focus on the progress on HOPE in kidney perservation.

Key words: Kidney transplantation, Organ preservation, Mechanical perfusion, Oxygenation
