Abstract:

Acute hepatic failure is a kind of severe liver disease with high rate of mortality. Artificial liver supporting systems play an important role in treating with acute hepatic failure. With the development and application of new type of artificial liver supporting systems, ideal animal models of acute hepatic failure are necessary to evaluate its effectiveness and practicability. We reviewed different surgical methods in establishing porcine models of acute hepatic failure at present.
